Artist Statement

From my hand, to a brush, to a color, to the mystery of an abstract vision: art is that of the unknown; known only to the viewers eye; taught only by the artists soul.

My art has always come to me as an outlet.  I find peace of mind in creativity, yet my most authentic pieces have come to me in an emotional explosion, during a time of contemplation or even difficulty.  The abstraction in my artwork speaks to this.  I often do not think, but only paint.  The whole experience is very meditative.  Not only is my art therapeutic for myself, but by looking at my artwork from different angles, anyone can interpret the work in a way that may give them a new perspective on their lives.  Or at least just a single thought.

From the earth, to a metal, to a stone, to the beauty of worn art.  Art that moves like water; that dangles in the wind and ignites the fire within me to create.

My handmade earrings are all unique and one of a kind.  By focusing much more on detail than I would be while painting, I feel a great sense of perfectionism while creating.  I love using earth tones.   I spend time putting together complimentary colors and shapes, using vintage resins, glass, and various stones.

I also work as a fashion consultant and am represented by Seattle Models Guild.  Having studied anthropology at Smith College, I was inspired to travel to Lilongwe, Malawi where I taught AIDS awareness and environmental issues in rural villages for a summer.  My travels have always been a great inspiration for my artwork.  I previously lived in Rome, Italy for a year where art history began to ignite my passion for creativity.

I am currently represented by the Warren Knapp Gallery and my earrings can be found at Panache in Sun Valley, Idaho.
